COVID-19 vaccinations continue in Montgomery County, as well as free weekend rapid testing in Litchfield
“We are transitioning away from the call list,” the health department posted in its website this week. “We still have some people left on the list and plan to contact them for clinics, but moving forward, we will be referring people to online clinic registration. We are still able to provide registration assistance to those who need it. Those needing help with registering for a vaccine clinic should contact our office at 217-532-2001 and select zero for the operator.”
When it’s time for an individual’s second dose, he or she can expect to receive a reminder call from the health department a day or two before their due date. Location and appointment time will be confirmed during that call.
Free rapid testing will continue through April 2021 through Litchfield Family Practice Center. The antigen tests are available on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-3 p.m. or until 40 tests have been completed, whichever comes first. Testing is done either in a drive-through format or walk-in clinic, dependent upon the weather, and is first come, first served. Those testing will be notified of their results the same day.
In the first three days of this week, the local health department reported seven new positive tests–five on Sunday, one on Monday and one on Tuesday–for a positivity rate of 0.7 percent
According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, the statewide positivity rate continues to increase, up to 4.1 percent from March 31-April 6.
