Therasa Ann Kirby, 58, of Hillsboro, died on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at 5:06 p.m. at Hillsboro Area Hospital.

A public visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Private family funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home with the Rev. Randy Sands, pastor of Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro, officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro. CDC guidelines will be followed, including social distancing and masks.

Mrs. Kirby was born July 5, 1962, in Hillsboro, to Clarence “Junior” and Nancy (Gurule) Hamby. She married Eddie Kirby on Aug. 6, 1983, in Litchfield, and he survives.

A graduate of Hillsboro High School, she provided child care in her home and worked at the Regional Office of Education #3 in Hillsboro.

Mrs. Kirby loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters. She was a lifetime Hillsboro resident.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three sons, Brandon (wife Kylie) Kirby of Taylor Springs, Nathan (wife Kendra) Kirby and Ryan (companion Rachel Puckett) Kirby, both of Hillsboro; four granddaughters, Briley, Gracelynn, Aislee and Brooklyn; and four siblings, Randy (wife Betsy) Hamby of Witt, Sarah Hamby of Springfield, Duke (wife Dottie) Hamby of Hillsboro and Lisa (husband Jim) Holliday of Taylor Springs.

Mrs. Kirby was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Arthur Ray Duran and Steven Duran, both in infancy.
