Theodore “Ted” F. Zelinski, 70, of Springfield, died Sunday, Aug. 9, 2020, at 2:20 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Private services will be held. Staab Funeral Home in Springfield is assisting the family.
Mr. Zelinski was born Aug. 21, 1949, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, to Joseph and Sophia (Sokol) Zelinski. He married Diane Miller in 1974, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 9, 2015.
A member of the 114th Illinois Volunteer Infantry and the 10th Illinois Volunteer Cavalry, he was a member of the Springfield Municipal Band and the Polish Club of Illinois. He retired from the State of Illinois Department of Public Health.
Mr. Zelinski is survived by two daughters, Julie (Brian) Monk of Hillsboro and Jaime (James) Brock of Springfield; six grandchildren, Emily, Abigail, Barrett and Madison Monk, and Aidan and Hazel Brock; and one brother, Daniel Zelinski of San Francisco, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
