Thelma A. (Crites) Dannis, 94, of Staunton, died on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, at her home.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, at Becker and Son Funeral Home. Services will begin at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Nancy Hubert officiating. Burial will take place in Chapman Cemetery in Mt. Olive. Lunch for family and friends will be served at the Mt. Olive VFW. Becker and Son Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Dannis was born in White City, on April 12, 1928, the daughter of Elmar and Minnie (Sawyer) Crites. She attended Mt. Olive High School from 1942 to 1946. She married Joseph Dannis on Aug. 19, 1952, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 2019. Mrs. Dannis was employed by Betty D. Garment Factory in Litchfield, for over 20 years until it went out of business. She continued to work until age 70 for Community Care providing healthcare to seniors.

Mrs. Dannis is survived by her son, Duane (Tonya) Dannis of Gillespie; daughters, Lynne (Bart) Williams of Litchfield, Carla (Jim) Luketich of Mt. Olive; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Keith Ray Dannis; a sister, Viola (Crites) Sawyer; brothers, Grant Crites, Harold Crites and Lester Crites; and a grandson Joshua Stauffer.
