Susan Diane Hancock, 62, of Fillmore, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, at 1:54 p.m., at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be on Thursday, Nov. 18, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Leland Redfern will officiate. Burial will be at Bost Hill Cemetery in Fillmore.
Mrs. Hancock was born June 30, 1959 in Decatur, the daughter of Walter and Lela (Miller) Mentz. She married Ross “Dean” Hancock on Jan. 22, 1977 at the Schram City Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hancock was a graduate of Raymond High School and worked as a secretary for White and Associates of Hillsboro. She was a member of New Life Assembly in Coffeen. She loved animals, camping, horseback riding, boating and the outdoors.
She is survived by her husband; daughters Shannon (husband Josh) Maddaleno of Hillsboro and Amanda (husband John) Chumley of Chapman; grandchildren Ethan, Carsen, Avery and Emeri; and brothers John Mentz and Rodger Mentz.
Mrs. Hancock was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Harmon Mentz and Jim Mentz; and grandson Wyatt Riggs.
