Sue Elizabeth (Stanton) Edwards, 83, of Shipman, died Monday, June 28, 2021, at Robings Manor in Brighton.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 2, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Medora. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Anderson Family Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Mrs. Edwards was born Nov. 9, 1937, in Medora, to the late Bud and Mary (Rice) Stanton. She married John Calvin Edwards on Aug. 2, 1956, in Medora, and he preceded her in death on May 8, 2021.
She enjoyed traveling, especially taking trips to Nashville. She spent her life taking care of her family, always babysitting and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two children, Betty Lou Edwards of Litchfield and Calvin “Dale” (Becky) Edwards of Shipman; three grandchildren, Shayne (Michelle) Edwards, Blake (Kayla Jett) Edwards and Haley (Alex Silvester) Edwards; three great-grandchildren, with the fourth due in October; and a sister-in-law, Karen Gonzales.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant grandchild, and her siblings, Kenny Stanton, Wanda Ruyle and Velva Jean Darr.
Memorials may be made to her family to be used for the education of her great-grandchildren.
