Stephen George Keith, 55, of Virden, formerly of Hillsboro, died surrounded by his loving family on Friday, Nov. 8, 2024.
In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Keith was cremated. No public services will be held.
Mr. Keith was born on April 16, 1969,to the late Stephen E. Keith and Shelly Williams. He married Amanda Graumenz Keith on Aug. 14, 2007, in Gatlinburg, TN. Affectionately known as Stevie, he was a man of great humor and immense care, especially for his children, whom he loved dearly.
He spent his formative years attending Cathedral School in Springfield, then Hillsboro High School. He furthered his education by obtaining a certificate from Blackburn Community College. Professionally, he worked with Graumenz Construction in Vandalia. He enjoyed fishing with his sons and had a passion for searching for arrowheads. He loved teaching his sons life skills and also had a love for antiques and family trips which he found in exploring new places with his loved ones. His departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit and the memories shared will forever remain in the hearts of family and friends.
Mr. Keith is survived by his sons, Koalton (Amy Ernst-Page) Keith and Brock (Amanda) Keith, both of Vandalia; daughter, Gabriella Lang; and grandchildren of Missouri; mother, Shelly Williams of Virden; brothers, Chuck (Chris) Mathewson of Hillsboro and Doug Williams; sisters, Candace (Todd) Smith Williams of Blue Springs, MO, Charity (Mike) Hammer of Kansas City, MO, Victoria (John) Rotherham Keith Bledsoe of Hillsboro and Shari Gilmer of Louisiana; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Vicki Keith; stepfather, Walter Williams; maternal grandparents, Charles Mathewson and Betty Johnson; paternal grandparents, Ivan E. Keith and Audrey Keith Baker; and baby sister, Cherie Keith.
