Sheila J. ‘Shay’ Cearlock, 79

Sheila J. “Shay” Cearlock, 79, of Nokomis, died on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2020, in her home in rural Audubon Township.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Nokomis Cemetery. A graveside service will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. at the cemetery with Pastor Amanda Richards officiating. McCracken-Dean Funeral Home in Pana is assisting the family.

Mrs. Cearlock was born Feb. 8, 1941, in Pana, to William Albert “Sug” and Oma “Dot” (Taylor) Redman, Sr. She married Larry “Lippy” Cearlock on March 21, 1987, in Las Vegas, NV, and he survives.

She graduated from Pana High School with the class of 1958. 

Mrs. Cearlock was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pana, where she was a member of prayer partners. She was a person of deep faith and she loved the Lord. She also loved nature and having lunch and shopping with her sissy and friends.

She and her husband enjoyed over 33 years together, traveling extensively throughout the United States and 13 cruises to many beautiful destinations.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Cearlock is survived by her sister, Debra Sue “Sissy” Redman of University City, MO; stepchildren, Kim Noyes of Hillsboro, Kristy (Brian) Hayes of Nokomis and Kelly (Jamie) Cearlock of Taylorville; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; niece, Stephanie “Jill” (Kenneth) Davis of Mt. Zion; three great-nieces; sister-in-law, Marcia (Earl) Alexander of Nokomis; and many good friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Jean Redman; and stepson-in-law, Bob Noyes.

Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church in Pana and will be accepted by the funeral home.
