Sharon Lee DeVries, 80, of Mt. Olive, died on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 6:25 a.m. at Heritage Health: Therapy and Senior Care in Staunton.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 13, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Becker and Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Simburger officiating. Burial will be held at Staunton City Cemetery.

Mrs. DeVries was born Aug. 29, 1941, to Forest and Leta (Best) Frailey. She married Ray Garner on Dec. 4, 1959, and they later divorced. She then married Merl W. DeVries on Oct. 22, 1981, and he preceded her in death.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed watching movies, quilting, counted cross stitching, hook and latch work, visiting the Alton Belle once a month and reading lots of books.

Mrs. DeVries is survived by her children, Susan (Paul) DeVries, Sallie Navarro, Shelley (Ron) Perkins, David Garner, Daniel Garner, Kenneth (Liz) DeVries, Keith (Lisa) DeVries and Kevin DeVries; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gary (Renee) Frailey and Larry (Carol) Frailey; and brother-in-law, Jerry Gorsich.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Donna Gorsich; nieces, Kimberly Margehrio and Linda Baker; nephews, Jared Frailey and Rick Richards; and a granddaughter, Jessica Prose.
