Sharon K. Roach, 82, of Litchfield, died on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025, at Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro.

Funeral services will be held at a later date. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield. Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Roach was born on Dec. 13, 1942, in Hillsboro, a daughter of Victor V. and Helen M. (Randle) Vollintine. She graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1961. She married Gene on April 6, 1962, and he preceded her in death on July 15, 2004.

She was a hardworking woman who worked at the Roller Derby for 22 years. After that she continued her hard work as a CNA, being a physical and occupational therapy aide for 15 years. She did complete care system in field supervisor for six years. She ended her career at Hillsboro Hospital as a CNA in assisted living for three years before retiring in 2008. She continued even after retiring working with private home care at Cornerstone. She was a life long member of the Washville Baptist Church. She took care of so many people for so long and now she may take her rest. She is very loved by her family and friends.

Mrs. Roach is survived by her son, Ronald (Lori) Roach of Litchfield; daughters, Tammy (companion Todd Fogle) Roach of Hillsboro, Stephanie (companion Nathan) Roach of Gillespie; brother, Lonnie (Carol) Vollintine of Coffeen; sister, Vicki (Bob) Komor of Litchfield; grandchildren, Hayden (companion Tori Collenn) Roach of O’Fallon, MO, Kayla Wentler of Gillespie, Logan Kean of Gillespie, Dylan Gamble of Texas and C.J. Gamble of Saginaw, TX; great-grandchildren, Cooper Wentler, Ryker Wentler, Zachary Kean and Kieren Ried; stepgranddaughter, Misty Meisenheimer, step great-grandson, Wesley Reed; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
