Sandra June (Peters) Porter, 77, of Monroe City, MO, died on Saturday, April 7, 2022, at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Garner Funeral Chapel in Monroe City, MO. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with Jason Ishmael officiating. Burial will be held at St. Jude Cemetery in Monroe City, MO.

Mrs. Porter was born Oct. 26, 1944, in Kirksville, MO, the daughter of Wanda Mae (Moutray) Peters and Nel and Russell Peters. She married Bill Porter on April 7, 1962, in Elizabeth City, NC, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 1999.

She attended Monroe City High School in Monroe City, MO. She was baptized into the Baptist Church as a young lady.

During her career, Mrs. Porter worked many years for Diemakers, Inc. of Monroe City and Palmyra. 

She loved quilting and mushroom hunting. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Mrs. Porter is survived by her daughter, Binky (Tim) Ishmael of Litchfield; two sons, Travis Porter and Troy Porter, both of Monroe City, MO; four grandchildren, Jason (Brittney) Ishmael, Amber (Adam Carter) Ishmael, Kristin (fiance Travis Blom) Ishmael and Cody (girlfriend Hannah Whitley) Porter; five great-grandchildren, Sophie Ishmael, Mac Ishmael, Preston Ishmael, Cooper Ishmael and Jackson Ishmael; sister, Sharon (Mike) Lawrence Spalding of O’Fallon, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and three brothers.

Memorials may be directed to Shriners Hospitals for Children or the American Cancer Society.
