Ruth Marie Nitz, 101, of Dorchester, died at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022 at Heritage Health of Carlinville.
Services were held on Monday, Feb. 14, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Burial was at New Douglas Cemetery. Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie assisted the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Nitz was born on Sept. 4, 1920, in Witt, to Otto Wolff and Mathilda Hauschild Wolff. She married John C. Nitz on Oct. 12, 1937, in Wilsonville, and he preceded her in death on May 2, 2003. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Nitz is survived by her nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Marjorie Nitz; and brothers, Melvin Wolff and Ivan Wolff.
