Russell Burwin “Bur” Merriman, 98, of Fillmore, died on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, surrounded by his family at home.
Private family graveside services will be held Monday, June 22, beginning at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Ramsey with Father Scott Snider officiating. Military rites will be conducted. Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey is assisting the family.
Mr. Merriman was born Jan. 25, 1922, in Bingham, to John Henry and Ada (Landers) Merriman. He married Helen Eileen Otto on May 8, 1948, in Ramsey, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 28, 2019.
He was a farmer, WWII Army veteran and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Mr. Merriman is survived by his sons, Larry (Anita) Merriman of Ramsey, Mark (Jan) Merriman of Fillmore and Steve (Lisa) Merriman of Vandalia; daughters, Brenda (Mike) Cline of Joliet, MT, Cathy (Brent) Manning of Pawnee and Carol (Danny) Eickhoff of Hillsboro; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ward Merriman; sister, Norma in infancy; granddaughter, Andrea; and twin great-granddaughters, Emma and Ella.
Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
