Ruby F. (Cruthis) Winkler, 97, of Hillsboro, died on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 1:30 a.m. at her residence.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 1 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Mike Skinner, the Rev. Breck Nelson and the Rev. Ryan Follis co-officiating.Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family.
Mrs. Winkler was born Nov. 13, 1924, in Sorento, to Uley George and Elsie (Lake) Cruthis. She married Orville E. Winkler on Aug. 19, 1945, in Sorento, and he preceded her in death on June 1, 2012.
Following graduation from Hillsboro High School, she attended business college in St. Louis, MO. During her career, she served as a school secretary at Beckemeyer Elementary, where she retired in spring 1987.
A lifetime Hillsboro resident, Mrs. Winkler was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and canning.
She is survived by her children, Danny (wife Sandra) Winkler of Discovery Bay, CA, Dennis (wife Barb) Winkler and Jeanne (companion John Dal Pozzo) Winkler, both of Hillsboro; two grandchildren, Brent (wife Laura) Winkler of South Hill, WA, and Jason (wife Dana) Winkler of Hasting, MN; and four great-grandchildren, Autumn Rose Winkler, Colin James Winkler, Jackson Daniel Winkler and Blake Madison Winkler.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Winkler was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cheryl Winkler; and siblings, Sherilyn “Sheri” Dolash, Virginia Cruthis, Victor Cruthis and Thelma Nadine Draper.
