Rosemary Crowe, 86, of Freeburg, died on Monday, March 26, 2021.

Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, April 1, beginning at 10 a.m. at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Belleville. Friends and family may gather at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville at 9:30 a.m. to proceed to the cemetery.

Mrs. Crowe was born Jan. 9, 1935, in East St. Louis, to John and Rose Laskowski. She married Howard David Crowe on Nov. 7, 1953, and he preceded her in death.

She and her husband were loving parents who sacrificed much to provide the best they could for their family, including their faith-based education, sports, especially their passion for Notre Dame football, and their wonderful meals during the Holidays and Sundays.

Mrs. Crowe, with the help of her granddaughter Katie, ensured the special meals and recipes would continue in the family by preparing and gifting a recipe book to all.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who was known for her positive attitude and smile. She loved spending time with family and friends and would always send you away with, food, a kiss and a wave from the door.

Mrs. Crowe was a truly selfless person who always put others before herself. She was rich in family, faith and love from all who knew her and she would not have traded that for all the money in the world.

She will be missed by many but her memories will live on and shine brightly in her surviving children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family and friends.

Mrs. Crowe is survived by her sons, David Crowe, Steven (Joyce) Crowe, Michael (Julie) Crowe and John (Julia) Crowe; grandchildren, David (Mary Antoine) Crowe, Jr., Daniel (Alissa) Crowe, Douglas (Tara) Crowe, Catherine “Katie” (Ryan) Rusteberg, Adam (Sarah Horton) Crowe, Megan Crowe, Brian Crowe, J’Dah (Cyrus) Koger, Matthew (Brenann) Crowe and  Jorgia Crowe; great-grandchildren, Leigha, Kaylee, Lydia, Garrett, Colton, Kemper, Castor, Lennon, Nolan, Leighton, Layn, Lilyann, Carl, Geneva, Savannah and a new baby due in October; and her brother, John Laskowski.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Helen Laskowski in infancy and Ruthann Dunn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
