Ronald Lee Merriman, 63, of Hillsboro, died at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021, at Hillsboro Area Hospital.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27, at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Mr. Merriman was born on July 26, 1958, in Hillsboro, to William H. and Dorothy M. (Thacker) Merriman. He married Nancy Lehnen in 1979 in Hillsboro.
Mr. Merriman was a 1976 graduate of Hillsboro High School. He was employed as Waste Water Treatment Supervisor for the City of Hillsboro. Mr. Merriman was a member of Ducks Unlimited and founding member of Witt National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF). In his spare time, he loved to deer hunt and mushroom hunt.
Mr. Merriman is survived by his wife; daughter, Brandi (husband, Ron) Christian of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Bailey Davis, Hailey Christian and Colton Christian; siblings, Glenn Merriman of Hillsboro, Bill Merriman of Butler, Tanya Louise (husband, Art) Giller of Witt, Janice Kay Robinson of Nokomis, Kathy Ann Pierce of Nokomis and Sandra Jean Austin of Witt.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
