Robin J. Houser, 64, of Hillsboro, died on Friday, April 30, 2025, at Evelyn’s House Hospice in Creve Coeur, MO.
Two celebrations of life will be held for Mrs. Houser. The first will take place at Kutis Funeral Home, located at 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. in St. Louis, MO, on Saturday, May 10, at 1 p.m. The second will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, where she was a member, on Saturday, May 24, at 10 a.m. A visitation period will precede the service at 9 a.m., followed by a luncheon at the church. Pastor Stefan Munker of St. Paul’s will officiate both ceremonies.
Mrs. Houser was born in St. Louis, MO, on Nov. 3, 1960, to Winfred and Juanita (McMillin) Counts.
Mrs. Houser’s preferred leisure activities included fishing, boating and spending time with her grandchildren. She found pleasure in gardening and lawn maintenance, as well as crochet and other crafts. She also provided tax preparation services to family and friends. Throughout her professional career, Mrs. Houser held positions such as manager of Water and Fire Restoration Team, travel consultant at VTB Travel Agency and housekeeping manager at Timber Creek Resort in Missouri.
Mrs. Houser is survived by her husband, Paul W. Houser Jr.; mother, Juanita Counts; sister, Lynn (Kenny) Heffner; son, David (Cassie) Wasem; grandchildren, Chloe and Caelyn Wasem and Winfred “Freddie” Ellerbeck; Paul’s daughter, Elizabeth Houser; niece, Stephanie (Kevin) Mahaffy; and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Winfred Counts; brother, Dennis Counts; sister, Beverly Glover; son, Mathew Ellerbeck; and stillborn sister, Denise Counts.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorial donations are suggested to “Gift of Hope” or the “American Cancer Society” in Mrs. Houser’s honor. Mrs. Houser will be profoundly missed, and her influence on those who knew her will endure.
