Robert F. Diesselhorst, 81, of Coffeen, died on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020, at his residence.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Hough and Sons Funeral home in Hillsboro is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Diesselhorst was born on Jan. 29, 1939, in Highland, to Fred and Emerralda (Wildhauber) Diesselhorst. He married Virginia Ragland on Dec. 23, 1961.
Mr. Diesselhorst was a graduate of Highland High School and completed four years of trade school. He was an extremely talented sheet metal worker and member of Labor Local #268 of Caseyville. He was of the Baptist faith and a past member of the Litchfield Moose Club and the Litchfield Jaycees.
Mr. Diesselhorst is survived by his wife; children, Sharon Diesselhorst and John Mondin, both of Hillsboro, Denise Wilson of Mt. Olive, Dennis Diesselhorst of Litchfield and Lee Diesselhorst of Hillsboro; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and siblings, David Diesselhorst, Carol Gibbons and Dianne Price.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Robert Diesselhorst Jr.; brothers, Richard and Kenneth Diesselhorst; and a sister, Sharon Diesselhorst.
