Robert E. Wasson, 58, of Butler, died on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, at his residence.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Wasson was born on May 2, 1963, in Taylorville, to Ivan Wasson and Virginia “Carol” Boone. He married Patricia “Patty” Ryan on Oct. 12, 2019.
Mr. Wasson worked for several cab companies in Taylorville and at Morrisonville Co-op. He loved his grandchildren, NASCAR and dirt track racing especially at Macon Co. Speedway. He attended Apostolic Light House Church in Taylorville.
Mr. Wasson is survived by his wife; mother; two daughters, Lisa Stolte of Springfield and Cassey Wasson of Taylorville; five grandchildren; and siblings, Sue (Tracey) Hunt of Taylorville, Pamela Fanning of Edinburg, Ronald Beesley of Taylorville and Kenny Boone of Taylorville.
He was preceded in death by his father; and one brother Michael Wasson.
