Robert A. “Bob” Carter, 66, of Mt. Olive, formerly of Litchfield, died Tuesday, March 11, 2025, peacefully at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. The Rev. Jon Wagahoff of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Raymond will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Mr. Carter was born July 28, 1958, in Mishawaka, IN, a son of Arthur “Bud” Edmund and Barbara Jean (Lyons) Carter. He graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1976 and was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force.
He and the former Tina L. Vincent were married Nov. 25, 1994, at Litchfield Southern Baptist Church. She survives.
Mr. Carter was employed through the years at Georgia Pacific in Mt. Olive and Quality Partitions-RTS Packing in Litchfield. He loved spending time outdoors, fishing for bass, fish fries, cookouts with his family and traveling with his wife.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Carter is survived by his two sons, Eric Ballowe of Mt. Olive and Mitchell (Abby) Carter of Collinsville and three daughters, Christina Broderick of Brownstown, Tawny (Allen) Page of Hillsboro and Stacy Carter of Litchfield; brother, Garry Carter of Bradenton, FL, and two sisters, Pamela Ferguson of Hillsboro and Trish (Bob) Landry of Port Townsend, WA; eight grandchildren, Austin, Sami, Ryan, Riley, Zane, Brayden, Dexter and Elliot; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alma and Edward Knes of Mt Olive.
