Richard “Rick” Kreis, 64, of Litchfield, died on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022, at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday Aug. 9, at Faith Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Funeral services will begin immediately after the visitation, at 5 p.m., at the church with Pastor James Ritter officiating. Dinner will follow at the close of services. Cremation rites will be accorded. Litchfield Family Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Kreis was born on Aug. 18, 1957, in Springfield, a son of Carroll and Margaret Ann Kreis. He was a graduate of Tri-City High School in Buffalo. Mr. Kreis managed Alexander Lumber Company in Litchfield and later worked for Mac’s Fire and Safety, also in Litchfield. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Hilltop Coin Club in Hillsboro and the Litchfield Sportsman’s Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, woodworking, coin collecting and spending time with his family.
Mr. Kreis is survived by his father; wife, Marie Kreis of Litchfield; children, Melissa Kreis of Springfield, James Kreis of Litchfield, Jennifer Kreis of Springfield and Andrew Kreis of Litchfield; one grandson, Jeremiah Kreis of Springfield; siblings, Brenda (James) Smith of Gravois Mills, MO, Nancy (Jim) Welch of Chandler, AZ, Ron (Jennifer) Kreis of Mesa, AZ, and Mark (Toni) Kreis of Shawnee, KS; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
