Rhonda S. Redeker, 61, of Nokomis, died on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 27, beginning at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Nokomis. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Nokomis.

Mrs. Redeker was born Dec. 18, 1960, in Hillsboro, to Lester H. and Orlena A. (Johnson) Halleman. She married Don Redeker on Aug. 10, 1979, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in rural Nokomis, and he survives.

She graduated from Nokomis High School with the class of 1979.

Mrs. Redeker was a farm wife, helping with planting and harvest until she was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia in 2008. She was a warrior, never one to complain or ask “why me?” Her response was always, “why not me?”

She had an infectious laugh that would always bring a smile to your face. Her strong faith brought her through many hard times during her illness.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Redeker is survived by her daughter, Feryl (Ryan) York of Cedar Rapids, IA; very special granddog, Cooper; siblings, Sandra (Joe) McNeal of Litchfield, Pat (Steve) Gerlach of Waggoner and Larry (Shelley) Halleman of Nokomis.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
