It was the first regional of the year for siblings Bodee and Bristol Everett as the Litchfield siblings competed in the Midwest Lightning .25 Midget Series races at Metro St. Louis Quarter Midget Racing Association Tri-City Junior Speedway on June 27.
Bodee Everett would start fourth in his Junior Animal heat race and finished near the back after some minor trouble. He would make up for the bad luck in the B-Main though, finishing first and earning a spot in the A-Main. In the finale, Everett would start seventh and move all the way up to third by the time the checkered flag flew.
Everett wouldn’t be quite as fortunate in the 160cc class, starting and finishing fourth in his heat race, then finishing sixth in the B-Main to end his run at Tri-City.
Bristol Everett would post a good run in her heat race in the Heavy World Formula division, placing second after starting fourth. After starting third in the A-Main, Everett’s car began to get tight, causing her to spin and dropping her back in the field. Everett’s father, Mike, would make some adjustments to free up the car, but it just wasn’t the young driver’s day.
Bristol, the MSLQMRA track champion last year, and her younger brother will be back in action on July 11, in Broadwell for Abraham Lincoln Quarter Midget Association regional.
Prior to the trip to Granite City, the Everett’s raced at the Christian County Quarter Midget track in Taylorville, with Bodee finishing third in Jr. Animal and Bristol finishing third in Heavy World Formula on June 7.
