Raymond Village Board Approves Fuel Tax Bid

Members of the Raymond Village Board approved Louis Marsh’s motor fuel tax bid at a cost of  $41,573.55 during their meeting on Monday evening, April 19, at the village hall.

The motion was made by Trustee Dan Hough and seconded by Trustee Bill Krager. Another motion would follow, made by Trustee Bruce Poggenpohl and seconded by Hough, to approve an ordinance for the annual budget and appropriation. All present voted in favor.

In an effort to keep the village presentable, a junk week will be held Monday, June 7 through Friday, June 11.

As part of the Shoal Creek Golf Course update, Superintendent Nick Hornbuckle reported that the T-box project is well underway. He also advised that he has ideas and has inquired about the irrigation system. The golf course’s Facebook page was also discussed, including updated photos, as well as hosting more events and offering golfing specials.

In economic development, the board was notified by neighbors about a house in town that has accumulated junk. The village will send an ordinance violation letter to the homeowner.

Those in attendance were Mayor Denny Held and trustees Greg Bernhardt, Dan Hough, Bill Krager and Bruce Poggenpohl. Trustee Robert Pennock was absent for the meeting.
