Raymond “Ray” Scroggins, 64, of Staunton, died at 3:47 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, 2024 at Community Hospital of Staunton.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, at the Staunton Fire Department Hall. Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton is assisting with arrangements.
Mr. Scroggins was born on May 12, 1960, in Chicago, to the late Louis and Nancy (Adamik) Scroggins. He was employed as a yardman at Tubular Steel in Staunton for many years. He had also worked as a cook at many area restaurants. He was a retired member of the Staunton Volunteer Fire Department, was a member of the Net Community Church of Staunton, the Staunton Lions Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his sons, Jon (Talia) Eaves and Joe Eaves, both of Staunton; grandsons, Connor, Carter and Zach Eaves; brothers, Otto (Nancy) Scroggins of Raymond and John (Michelle) Scroggins of Staunton; sisters, Nancy Scroggins of Harvel, Jean (Kenny) Hainaut of Fosterburg and Maryann Scroggins, Ann (Jim) Masinelli and Rena Smith of Staunton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Scroggins was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
