Ralph Leo Moreland, Jr., 88, of Venice, FL, formerly of Kankakee, died on Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Private services will be held and burial will immediately follow. Farley Funeral Homes and Crematory in Venice, FL, is assisting the family.
Mr. Moreland was born July 26, 1933, in Hillsboro, to Ralph and Lila (Stewart) Moreland, Sr. He married Janice Diane Whitehead, and she preceded him in death.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy, and was an active member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion, VFW and the Eagles.
Mr. Moreland was an incredible dad, grandpa, companion and friend to many, and will be truly missed.
He is survived by his loving life partner, Carol Black; four children, Diane (Bob) Kern, Jim (Donna) Moreland, Lori Deagan and Paula Diard; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Judy (Clayton) Rattin.
In addition to his loving wife of 54 years, Mr. Moreland was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Tidewell Hospice.
