It was the first points race of the season for Metro St. Louis Quarter Midget Racing Association in Granite City on April 17 and Litchfield racer Bodee Everett was on the track in the Everett Racing machines.
Everett would start out strong, but got into trouble early and finished near the back of the pack in the Senior Animal division. The young racer would have more success in his Light World car though, as he started sixth and moved up three spots to finish in third.
The following week, Everett would be back at the friendly confines of the Abraham Lincoln Quarter Midget Association (ALQMA) raceway in Lincoln on April 24.
He would miss qualifying, but worked his way up in both the Senior Animal and Light World divisions to finish second in both feature races.
ALQMA will host a Midwest Lightning .25 Midget Series regional on Saturday, May 15, with registration due by May 13 at 9 p.m. Cost is $35 per car. Late registration will be allowed at sign-ins, but drivers will start from the back of the field. For more information, go to www.facebook.com/ALQMARacing.
