Phyllis B. Owens, 64, of Panama, at 6:57 a.m. Tuesday, Jan.25, 2022, at HSHS Holy Family Hospital in Greenville.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Owens was born on Sept. 18, 1957, in Belleville, a daughter of Richard John and Irene Ann (Sabol) Marquardt. She worked at Care Inn in Litchfield in housekeeping, and also as a cashier at UJ’s Convenience Store and both Casey’s General Stores in Litchfield for several years.
She enjoyed watching wrestling, crafts, gardening, and watching birds feeding outside her window.
She is survived by a son, James “Jimmy” (Jessica) Riggins of Morrison, MO; two daughters, Carrie (Jake) Roach of Panama and Felicia (fiancé Brett Sexton) Emerson of Litchfield; nine grandchildren, Richard Roach, Tori-Lee Roach, Terri McPhee, Desiree McPhee, Christopher Emerson, Heaven Emerson, Brayden Emerson, Arianna Emerson, and one on the way; three sisters, Rita Bailey of O’Fallon, Kathy (Edward) Armstrong of Fairmont City, and Helen (Gene) Miller of Cahokia; a niece and two nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Marquardt.
