Pauline White, 89, of Walshville, died on Monday, April 13, 2020, at 2:40 p.m. at her residence, surrounded by her family.

Private family graveside services were held on Wednesday, April 15, at the Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield, with Pastor Skyler Elmer officiating. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 24, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Christian Church in Litchfield with the Rev. Jim Harvey officiating. Litchfield Family Funeral Service assisted the family.

Mrs. White was born on March 27, 1931, in Hillsboro, a daughter of Edgar and Myrtle (Hill) Joyce. On October 7, 1950, she married Robert M. White in Hillsboro, he preceded her in death.

Mrs. White graduated from Hillsboro High School and went on to obtain her certification to become a nurses aid. She was employed by Hillsboro Area Hospital and HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield. Mrs. White worked well into her late 70’s providing home health care to those in need. She also dedicated her time homemaking and providing for her family.

Mrs. White was a devout member of the Walshville Christian Church and the Christian Church of Litchfield for many years, where she assisted with bible school, bible studies and cleaning the church. 

She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and dedicated her spare time to lending a helping hand. Her many thoughtful cards and hand written letters will be dearly missed by her friends and family, who will remember her for having a kind and generous heart. She enjoyed spending time with her best friend and neighbor, Rose Simberger.

Mrs. White is survived by her children, Marilyn White of Litchfield, Sandra (Rick) Manypenny of Salem, OH, Gwen Knight of Walshville,  Mark White of Mason and Ruth (Steven) Simon of Walshville; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchild; twin sister, Nadine Wolf of Staunton; best friend, Rose Simburger of Walshville; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Raymond and Harry Joyce; sister, Betty Allen; grandson, Richard Manypenny; and daughter-in-law, Ila Jo White.
