Patsy F. Epley, 86


Patsy Farrell (Niehaus) Epley, 86, of Nokomis, died on Sunday, June 19, at 7:56 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 23, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis. Rosary will begin at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 24, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis is assisting the family.

Mrs. Epley was born Dec. 25, 1935, in Pana, to Lester “Bud” and Caramae (LeMay) Niehaus. She married Louis Epley on Feb. 20, 1955, in Taylorville, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 2021.

She graduated from Nokomis High School. A homemaker, her first priority was taking care of her family. 

Mrs. Epley enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren’s sporting events. She also enjoyed playing softball until she was 60 years old. One year, she played on a team with her three daughters.

She is survived by her children, Edward “Rocky” Epley, Terry Epley, both of Springfield, Tammy (Marvin) Johnson, Barry Epley, Monte (Pacie) Epley, Toni Robertson, all of Nokomis, and Tracy (Cathy) Epley of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Nathan, Ryan, Blake, Deidre, Cody, Brock and Megan; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Epley was preceded in death by her parents.
