Norma Ann (Boehler) Niehaus, 91, of Morrisonville, formerly of Litchfield, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024, in her residence surrounded by her family.

A concelebrated Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Litchfield. The Fr. Rodney Schwartz and Fr. Daniel Willenborg will preside. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Nokomis.

Mrs. Niehaus was born in Ricks Township, Christian County, on Oct. 14, 1933. She was the daughter of William Joseph and Minnie Alice (Hefley) Boehler. She attended St. Louis Catholic Grade School and graduated from Nokomis High School class of 1951. She was an RN and retired from St. Francis. She was a floor nurse at the hospital and later was a home health hospice nurse. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and later a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kincaid. She was married to the late Robert Niehaus of Raymond.

Mrs. Niehaus once said that she would like to be remembered as a good mother, a good Christian, and a good nurse. Everyone that knew her knows that she accomplished that in abundance. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening and writing poetry.

Mrs. Niehaus is survived by  her nine children, Mike (Gail) Niehaus of Litchfield, Greg (Sue) Niehaus of Pagosa Springs, CO, Dennis (Robin) Niehaus of Pagosa Springs, CO, Jan (Ken) Harms of Pagosa Springs, CO, Becky (Jim) Davis of Pagosa Springs, CO, Laurie Niehaus of Pagosa Springs, CO, John (Dana) Niehaus of Carlinville, Patty Auvenshine of Morrisonville and Jennifer (Neal) Cox of Missouri; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Larry Boehler of Mulberry Grove.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, William Boehler, Jr., Gerald Boehler, Darrell Boehler; and sister, Mary.
