Norita L. Fisher, 85

Norita Lou Fisher, 85, of Litchfield, died on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at 2:52 p.m. at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Clayton, MO, with her daughter by her side.

Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 4, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield. A Celebration of Life will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Cassie Sexton-Riggs officiating. Inurnment will be held at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield.

Mrs. Fisher was born April 24, 1937, in Litchfield, to Ben and Dortha Jewel (Smith) Weatherford. She married Ronald Lee Fisher on Christmas Day 1958 at Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield, and he survives.

She graduated from Litchfield High School, where she was a majorette, with the class of 1955. 

A lifelong resident of Litchfield, Mrs. Fisher was employed by the State of Illinois Department of Revenue, Fashion Lane, Mohr Value, the Litchfield News-Herald, Nabisco and Walmart. 

She was a water aerobics instructor for Swim and Trim. She enjoyed boating on the Illinois River and Lake Lou Yaeger, riding her motorcycle, playing cards with her Bunco group, bowling and spending time with her friends.

Mrs. Fisher loved her two dogs, Mattie Lou and Mollie Lou, both now deceased. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and treasured the times spent with family. She also enjoyed traveling with her daughter to Florida and attending the sporting events of her children.

She was a member of Union Avenue Christian Church.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Fisher is survived by her son, Tim Fisher of Litchfield; daughter, Kim (John Mark) Graham of Creve Couer, MO; brother, Gerald Ray (Carol) Weatherford of Avon, IN; sister, Dorothy Ann Clotfelter of Vail, AZ; grandson, Luke A. Graham of Clayton, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Shirley Russell Dean Weatherford.
