Nina M. King, 53, of Virden, died on Sunday evening, March 5, 2023, at her residence.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 10, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Litchfield Family Funeral Service. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Cliff Woodman officiating. 

Mrs. King was born June 23, 1969, in Staunton, to Norman and Diane (Fritzsche) Henry. She married Mark E. King on Dec. 7, 1988, in Litchfield, and he survives in Virden.

She attended Lincoln Land Community College, where she studied nursing.

During her career, Mrs. King served as a mental health technician for the state at McFarland. After 16 years there, she changed jobs and became the office coordinator for the Disability Determination Services for the state of Illinois.

She was a member of the NRA and enjoyed target shooting and fishing. She loved being with her children and grandson. She loved and cared for animals, especially her dogs Bandit, Smokey and Riley.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. King is survived by her daughter, Heather (Anthony) Harbaugh of Virden; son, Marc (Elizabeth) King of Ellenboro, NC; grandson, Elijah King; stepfather, Gerald Hedderick of Lead Hill, AR; two brothers, Rusty Henry of Omaha, AR, and Chad Henry of Lead Hill, AR; two sisters, Sonya (Ed) Rudolph of Omaha, AR, and Robin (Jack) Wittenmeyer of Raymond; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
