Nancy S. Trobaugh, 85, of Greenville, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon.

A memorial service was held Friday, Jan. 17, at Young Funeral Home. A private burial will be held in Mt. Auburn Cemetery at a later date.

Mrs. Trobaugh was born Aug. 22, 1934, in Central Township in Bond County, to Fred and Mary S. (Kohlhauff) Kimbro. She married Lawrence Junior Trobaugh on Sept. 25, 1954, and he preceded her in death on May 4, 2004.

Growing up in the Greenville area, she graduated from Greenville High School, and went on to work at the telephone office. She married, had a family, became a housewife and a stay-at-home mom.

She baked wedding cakes for five years out of her home and also worked with her husband building seven houses on the side. She went back into the workforce at Greenville Medical as a receptionist for 24 years. 

A lifetime member of the Greenville First Baptist Church, she enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, making afghans for family and friends and  pumpkin bread. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Denny (Jan) Trobaugh of Highland and Barb (Dan) Frerker of Greenville; and grandchildren, Michael Trobaugh of Highland, Carissa Frerker of Boulder, CO, and Sarah (Josh) Vaughan of Highland.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Fred "Bud" Kimbro; and sister, Patty Kimbro.
