It was a cool and windy day at Sandy Oaks MX in Keithsburg as WFO Promotions closed out its 2020 hare scramble series on Nov. 15. More than 200 racers attended the event, including several from the Journal-News coverage area.
Travis Lentz of Walshville would take first in the 65cc class, while his mom, Alison Lentz, also hopped on board the Husqvarna and competed in the women’s division, finishing seventh. Cooper Duff of Donnellson was right behind his racing buddy Travis, finishing second in the 65cc division.
Jhenner Walker of Morrisonville would pick up a win as well, taking the top spot in the 50cc division, while his brothers, Jhadyn and Jhak, and father, Jeremy, were racing in Texas in the NEPG enduro series.
In the Open B class, Collin Johnson of Gillespie made a strong run and finished third to end his season on a high note going into 2021.
Alex Komor of Litchfield would run in one of the biggest classes of the day, placing 11th out of 21 riders in the 98-200 C class, while Ryan Komor ran in 201-Open C and finished second overall in the field of 16.
All in all, it was a solid outing for what was the final hare scramble of the AMA District 17 season. Points have yet to be updated to include the final races, but when they are, they will be published in The Journal-News.
