Mike Strubhart Is 2020 Rising Star

Posted

Aviston native Mike Strubhart was selected as this year’s Rising Star award winner by the Litchfield Chamber of Commerce and it’s no surprise as the power he’s supplying– it’s electrifying.

Strubhart, who is a self-employed electrician, graduated from Breese Central High School and earned dual associate’s degrees in industrial electricity and industrial electronics/instrumentation from Belleville Area College, now Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville (SWIC).

Following college graduation, Strubhart worked for a company for ten years, gaining hands-on experience and knowledge that would help him to eventually open his own business.

Strubhart Electric was established in fall 2006, and the founder has been specializing in the residential field–making homes brighter one wire at a time–since then. The company also services the commercial and agricultural industry as well.

With over 25 years of experience, Strubhart offers a variety of solutions to each electrical need. From a simple service call like changing an outlet to completing new construction projects, rewiring and installing phone and cable lines, the electrician strives to give his customers quality workmanship.

Having been part of the Litchfield community for about three years now, Strubhart says he’s always looking for more customers, particularly in the local area.

“Everyone has welcomed me in Litchfield,” said the electrician. “I’m trying to expand my business and want to be part of the community and volunteer my time.”

In the past, he has completed work for the City of Litchfield fire and lake departments, and joined the Litchfield Chamber of Commerce last year to expand his efforts. As a result, he was named as chamber member of the month in October 2019.

Strubhart said Litchfield was the perfect place to continue his work as the city is stationed between Springfield and St. Louis, MO, making it “the best of both worlds,” he said.

In addition to installing and maintaining wiring and control equipment, he coaches indoor soccer for first through fourth graders from January through April with Wildfires Soccer Teams, based in Litchfield. He also assists seventh and eighth graders and is affiliated with the Litchfield Youth Soccer Association’s fall recreational league. His other hobbies include camping, and spending time with his girlfriend, Mindy Reyes, and daughters, Isabella, Charlotte and Giuliani Reyes.
