Michelle “Shelly” Kay (Thacker) Dyer, 59, of Coffeen, died on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at her home in Coffeen.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.to 12 p.m. on Monday, April 14, at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. Burial will take place in Olive Hill Cemetery in Coffeen. Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Dyer was born the daughter of Michael H. and Judy Kay (White) Thacker on Aug. 3, 1965, in Hillsboro. She graduated from Hillsboro High School and married Tony Dyer on Oct. 11, 2012, at the Grace Fellowship Church in Fillmore, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 2023.
Although she was born in Hillsboro and lived in Coffeen most of her life, she lived several years in both Gillespie and Florida, but returned to the area in the early 2000s. She was proud to be the first female member of Labor Local #1084 in Hillsboro. She loved to participate in the sport of fishing and enjoyed the fish fries that her family would throw. Her greatest joy in life came from being a grandma. She would always find the perfect gift at a yard sale or thrift store for her grandchildren, and they knew that when Grandma Shelly’s truck pulled up, there was nothing but fun and presents coming to them.
Mrs. Dyer is survived by her parents, Michael and Judy Thacker; children, Isaiah (Carissa) Wright of Hillsboro, Megan (Ryan) Holland of Alexandria, VA, Tiffanie Thacker of Coffeen and Moriah (fiancé Chad) Thacker of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Rylan, Harvey, Aiden, Logan, Naomi, Gloria, Jonas, Noah, Ella, Ronan, Adalee, Cora, Cohen, Casper, Calvin and Crosby; brother, Stacy (Pamela) Thacker of Coffeen; nephew, Tycen Thacker; and other beloved family members.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Keaton.
Memorials may be directed toward OliveHill Cemetery or the Hillsboro Free Methodist Church: Celebrate Recover.
