Mrs. Dyer was born on Aug. 3, 1965, in Hillsboro, the daughter of Michael H. and Judy Kay (nee White) Thacker. Mrs. Dyer graduated from Hillsboro High School. Although she was born in Hillsboro and lived in Coffeen most of her life, she lived several years in both Gillespie and Florida, but returned to the area back in the early 2000s.
She married Tony Dyer on Oct. 11, 2012, at the Grace Fellowship Church in Fillmore and he preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 2023.
Mrs. Dyer was proud to be the first female member of Labor Local #1084 in Hillsboro. She loved to participate in the sport of fishing and enjoyed the fish fries that her family would throw. Her greatest joy in life came from being a grandma. She would always find the perfect gift at a yard sale or thrift store for her grandchildren, and they knew that when Grandma Shelly’s truck pulled up, there was nothing but fun and presents coming to them.
Mrs. Dyer is survived by her parents, Michael and Judy Thacker; children, Isaiah (wife Carissa) Wright of Hillsboro, Megan (husband Ryan) Holland of Alexandria, VA, Tiffanie Thacker of Coffeen and Moriah (fiancé Chad) Thacker of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Rylan, Harvey, Aiden, Logan, Naomi, Gloria, Jonas, Noah, Ella, Ronan, Adalee, Cora, Cohen, Casper, Calvin and Crosby; brother, Stacy (wife Pamela) Thacker of Coffeen; nephew, Tycen Thacker; as well as other beloved family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Dyer; and grandson, Keaton.
Memorials in Mrs. Dyer’s honor may be directed towards Olive Hill Cemetery or the Hillsboro Free Methodist Church: Celebrate Recovery. Condolences may be left online at www.basspattondeanfh.com.
