Melissa Ann Schrumpf, 55, of New Douglas, died on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, at her residence.

Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. at The First Christian Church, located at 1100 Killarney Drive in  Greenville. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorial services will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tyson Graber officiating. Interment will follow at New Douglas City Cemetery. The Lesicko Funeral Home of Livingston and the Williamson Funeral Home of Staunton are assisting the family with arrangements.Mrs. Schrumpf was born on Thursday, Feb. 16, 1967, in Taylorville, a daughter of DeWayne and Mary (Linton) Maples. She married Ronald Schrumpf, Jr., on June 20, 1992, in Grantfork, and he survives. Mrs. Schrumpf served in the United States Air Force National Guard of Illinois.

Mrs. Schrumpf worked as a custodian at Highland School District for 15 years and later worked as a truck driver/farmhand at Ulrich Family Farms in New Douglas. She enjoyed working outside, fishing, camping, horse back riding and showing cows at fairs. She was a past all- round high school rodeo champion. Mrs. Schrumpf was a member of the First Christian Church of Greenville and a past member of the Nokomis High School FFA.

Mrs. Schrumpf is survived by her husband, Ronald Schrumpf Jr. of New Douglas; three sons, Cody Schrumpf of New Douglas, Clayton Schrumpf of New Douglas and Trent Allgood of New Douglas; sister, Rosemary (Brad) Daniels of Mascoutah;  mother-in-law, Diann Haas of Staunton;  father-in-law, Ronald (Pam) Schrumpf of Highland; two sisters-in-law, Katie (Jason) Mettler of Highland and Elizabeth (Karl) Fiedler of Highland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
