Mathew Jesse Ellerbeck, 29, of Hillsboro, died at 12:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, the result of an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro.

Mr. Ellerbeck was born on Oct. 20, 1993, in St. Louis, MO., the son of Gerald (Gayle) Ellerbeck and Robin (Paul) Houser. He had planned to marry the love of his life, Rebekka Lindsey in October of this year, and she survives.

Mr. Ellerbeck attended Hillsboro High School. He was a contractor for the Hillsboro Coal Mine. He loved working on cars, fishing, swimming, animals and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents and partner, Mr. Ellerbeck is survived by his children, Winfred “Freddie” Ellerbeck and Randall Love of Hillsboro; grandparents, Juanita Counts and Gerald Ellerbeck, both of St. Louis, MO; and siblings, David Wasem of Arnold, MO, Joshua Twiggs of Hillsboro, MO, and Cady Houser of Greenville.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Winfred L. Counts and Donna Joann Ambro; and great-grandmother, Helen Gregory.
