Mathew A. Casey, 40, of Nokomis, died on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, in Nokomis.
Private family funeral services will be held at a later date. Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey is assisting the family.
Mr. Casey was born Dec. 7, 1981, in Decatur, to Jefferey Allen Casey and Patricia Lynne (Donaldson) Casey.
During his career, he worked as a correctional officer at Graham Correctional Center in Hillsboro.
Mr. Casey is survived by his father, Jeff (Jan) Casey of Vandalia; mother, Patricia Casey of Ramsey; sisters, Megan (Heath) McDowell and Hannah (Aaron) Konrad, both of Vandalia; children, Dezsiree Monroe, Matt, Jaydah, Devalyn, Japheth, Noelan and Alexis Casey; and maternal grandparents, Don and Betty Donaldson of Ramsey.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lowell “Punk” and Dolores Casey.
Memorials may be directed to Myers Cemetery in Herrick.
