Mary Louise Jones, 97, of Litchfield, died at 6:50 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Heritage Health in Litchfield.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8, at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. A funeral procession will line up at Plummer Funeral Home at 10:45 a.m. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Jones was born on Aug. 14, 1924, in Barnett, a daughter of Christopher C. and Rosey (Byers) Allen. She married William Robert “Bud” Jones on Sept. 6, 1942, in Rossville, GA. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2001. During the WWII era, Mrs. Jones was employed as a riveter with the Curtis-Mathis Corp., and was a homemaker. Mrs. Jones was a member of First Baptist Church in Litchfield where she volunteered as a church nursery attendant for several years. She was an excellent cook, who enjoyed crocheting and fishing with her husband before he passed away.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her sons, Larry A. (Ty) Jones of Maryville and Don L. (Sherry) Jones of St. Peters, MO; and four grandchildren, Marcy (Bryan) Conguta of Tampa, FL, Todd (Tiana) Jones of Maplewood, MO, David (Jill) Jones of St. Charles, MO, and Kimberly Jones of St. Louis, MO.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Geneiva Elliott; Cleo Allen, Ida Allen, Ruby Allen, Lucille Landers, Lucy Makler, Darlene Allen, Christine Schoen and Elma Allen (in infancy).
