Mary Lou (Wesner) Fowler, 89, of Hillsboro, died on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 10:35 a.m. at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 14, beginning at 1 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro with the Rev. Michael Lawton, pastor of United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, officiating. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family.

Mrs. Fowler was born Jan. 3, 1933, in Terre Haute, IN, to Dennis S. and Mary Esther (Tuttle) Wesner. She married Howard Marion Fowler on June 23, 1950, in Robinson, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 2017.

Following high school graduation, she attended beauty school. She owned and operated Personal Touch Bridal Shop in Hillsboro, and in her earlier years, she worked as a beautician and in medical assistance.

Mrs. Fowler was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hillsboro and Fusion Fitness and Aquatics. She enjoyed playing piano and cooking. Any time someone would stop by, she had to feed them.

She is survived by her children, Kevin Howard Fowler of Springfield and Stacey Dawn (wife Heather Favale) Fowler of Shorewood; and a granddaughter, Addison Fowler-Favale.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Fowler was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Monty Wesner.
