Mary Luanne Stewart, 71, of Morrisonville, died on Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024.
The family is planning a memorial service to celebrate her life in the spring.
Mrs. Stewart was born on June 25,1953, to Mary Lou Stogsdill Bergman and Joseph Anthony Bergman in Raymond. She was known for her love of Jesus, her giving heart and her kind soul. On Sunday mornings she could be found ministering the gospel at Harvel Christian Church, fulfilling a lifelong dream of founding a little white church where people could go to learn about Jesus.
A lover of all things “Mary Kay pink”, Mrs. Stewart touched the lives of many women through her career as an executive senior director with Mary Kay Cosmetics, a company she had been with for 50 years.
Mrs. Stewart loved everything about Christmas and at any time of the year one could see at least one Christmas tree lit up in her house. Many in Morrisonville remember her Christmas tree lot complete with a horse drawn sleigh with Santa giving sleigh rides each year. She worked with her sister-in-law Vicky to organize the initial Morrisonville Old Fashioned Christmas.
Mrs. Stewart’s favorite title was “Grandmother” or “Grammy.” She loved nothing more than spoiling her grandchildren and making memories. There were numerous trips to the apple orchard and pumpkin farm each year. Her family will miss the fried chicken picnics in the yard and on the wraparound porch. She was a beloved beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and aunt.
Mrs. Stewart is survived by her husband Gregory Lee Stewart of Morrisonville; mother Mary Lou Bergman of Hillsboro; mother-in-law Carol Stewart of Morrisonville; four children, Angie (Dan) White of Bluffton, SC, Doug (Kari) Skinner of Bluffton, SC, Holly Ferrill of Taylorville and Tara (Rex) Brown of Washington; 11 grandchildren, Miles White, Jamie (wife Alexa) Ferrill, Noah (fiancée Maddie) Skinner, Landon (fiancée Claire) Ferrill, Seth White, Lucas Skinner, Olivia Brown, Isaac Ferrill, Kassie Skinner, Ella Brown and Morgan Milner; three great-grandchildren Charlotte, Leyton and Mylah Ferrill; brother Jim (Emma) Bergman of Greenville and sister Jean (Doyle) Roth of St. Charles, MO; aunt Betty Turner of Highland; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
