Mary Jane Hinshaw Wisdom, 90, of Hillsboro, died Dec. 20, 2020 at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, FL.

A celebration of life will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro on Saturday, June 19, beginning at 12 noon with a private family burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro. The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mrs. Wisdom was born Jan. 20, 1930, in Bloomington to Oscar and Ellen (Maple) Hinshaw. She attended Normal Community High School and Illinois State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in home economics. She taught home economics at Hillsboro High School for 40 years, retiring in 1991.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, the Moose Club and the Historical Society of Montgomery County. She enjoyed spending time with her family, book club, study club, bridge clubs, reading, traveling and golfing.

She married William David Wisdom on Nov. 24, 1954, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 1984. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, William Craddock Wisdom; her sister, Margaret (Donald) Graff; a brother, Donald (Ruth) Hinshaw; and a niece, Sherry VanDyke.

She is survived by her children, Lori (Bill) Wisdom-Whitley of Tulalip, WA, and Jancye (Edward) Kilpatrick of Inverness, FL; four grandchildren, Mikayla and Adam Whitley, Mitch (Renee) and Ian Kilpatrick; best friends Kendra Finley and Doris Enochs, Brian, Bruce (Lisa), David (Kelli) Finley; and many nieces and nephews.
