Marlin Ernest “Butch” Gruelle, Jr., 66, of Litchfield, died at his residence on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 6:43 p.m.
No public services will be held. Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Gruelle was born on April 17, 1958, in East St. Louis, to Marlin Ernest Gruelle Sr. and Mable Edrie Wells Gruelle. He worked in maintenance in the manufacturing industry. He was a veteran of the US Army after having served during Vietnam. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his dogs and was very active with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Shane Gruelle and Shannon Becker, both of Litchfield; grandchildren, Kristin Gruelle, Lydia Gruelle, Logan Wood, Jack Becker and Ava Becker; siblings, Connie Walker of Alabama, Rosemary of Litchfield, Catherine (David) Wiggins of Minnesota, Valerie Richardson of Indiana and Elizabeth (Howie) Robb of Patoka.
Mr. Gruelle was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Paul Scott Gruelle.
