Marlene (Hartel) Parks, 74, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, at 1:05 p.m. at her residence.
Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 17 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 12 p.m. Mark Noyes will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento.
Mrs. Parks was born July 9, 1947 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Louis and Dorothy (Williamson) Hartel. She married Harold Dean Parks on June 22, 1968 in Litchfield.
She worked as a waitress and was a member of the Women of the Moose in Hillsboro.
Mrs. Parks is survived by her children, Kelly Dean Parks of Cheyenne, WY, and Jeffrey Parks of Taylor Springs; grandchild Josi Rhodes; and brother Leroy Hartel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Shirley Boyd and Maxine Meier; and brothers Gordon Hartel and Earl “Butch” Hartel.
