Marjorie “Marge” Brockamp, 96, of Morrisonville, died on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at 10:25 p.m. at Taylorville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville, 304 Carlin St. Funeral Mass will be conducted Thursday, April 8, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville with the Rev. Florent Kanga, S.A.C. officiating. Interment will follow at St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery in Morrisonville.

Mrs. Brockamp was born Aug. 28, 1924, on her family farm northwest of Harvel, to John Lawrence and Lula Mae (Kearns) Langen. She married Leo Brockamp on Sept. 14, 1948, and he preceded her in death.

She and her husband raised four boys on the family farm south of Morrisonville, and later founded Brockamp Farms, Inc. Over the next six decades, she served her family, church and community in many ways.

Mrs. Brockamp volunteered her time towards the Morrisonville American Legion Auxiliary, National Catholic Society of Foresters, Illinois and Mid-State Pork Producers and St. Maurice Parish, having served as the parish secretary. In 2013, she was awarded the Magnificant Award for the service to St. Maurice Parish by Bishop Thomas Paprocki.

In her spare time, she was especially talented at organizing and editing local history books. Between 1948 and 2019 she created several dozen scrapbooks of newspaper clippings from the Morrisonville and Panhandle communities featuring weddings, birth announcements, deaths, anniversaries and other historical events.

In 1972, Mrs. Brockamp collaborated with several other individuals to produce the Morrisonville Centennial book. Her other collaborations include the 125-year history book of St. Maurice Parish in 1995, and the 125-year history book of Morrisonville in 1997. In 1998, she and a distant cousin co-authored the Langen-Todt family history book which contains birth, death and marriage information for nearly 1,500 family members covering eight generations.

She is survived by her sons, Joe (Bonnie) Brockamp of Springfield, John (Marla) Brockamp and Dale (Kendra) Brockamp, both of Morrisonville; grandchildren, Beth (Kirk) Petroski, Alex, Kara and Maria Brockamp; great-granddaughter, Aunna Beranek; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Brockamp was preceded in death by her parents; son, Phil Brockamp; grandson, Rob Brockamp; and sisters, Mary Lou Langen in infancy and Genevieve (Howard) Wilson.
