Marilyn Louise Sitton, 92, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021, at 8:23 a.m. at Hillsboro Area Hospital.

The visitation is Thursday, Dec. 9, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Bass Pattton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. The funeral service will follow immediately at 11 a.m.  The Rev. Matt Ferguson, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro, will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro.

Mrs. Sitton was born May 12, 1929 in Edwardsville, the daughter of Arthur and Hannah (Dustman) Fiegenbaum. She married Harold Dean Sitton on April 20, 1951 in Edwardsville.

She had worked as a switchboard operator and in the business office at Hillsboro Area Hospital. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro and was very active in the women’s organization of the church which provides funeral dinners as well as many other projects. She sang in the church choir for over 50 years and loved to read and spend time with her family and grandchildren.

Mrs. Sitton is survived by her children, Sandra (husband Bill) Kloss of Villa Grove, Robb Sitton of Springfield, and Doug (wife Dawn) Sitton of Belleville; son-in-law Mark Noyes of Hillsboro; nine grandchildren;  13 great-grandchildren; sister Barbra Popp of St. Charles, MO; one niece and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold;  daughter Debra Lynn Noyes; and brother-in-law Donald Popp.
