For 60 years Bristol Motor Speedway has been one of the most popular tracks on the NASCAR circuit, but now “Thunder Valley” is getting a little dirty as it hosts the inaugural Bristol Dirt Nationals on March 15-20.
More than $400,000 in prize money will be on the line as the all-concrete half-mile track is covered in dirt to showcase some of the best drivers in dirt track racing today.
Eight different classes will run in Bristol, TN, with the marquee race the $50,000-to-win 50-lap Super Late Model grand finale on March 20. The Super Late Models will also be racing 50-laps for $10,000-to-win the night before.
In addition to the Super Late Models, Modifieds, Stock Cars, 602 Late Models, 604 Late Models, Hornets, Open Modifieds and Sport Mods.
The entry list for the final group includes a familiar face to Montgomery County race fans. One of 150 entries drawn to compete in the class, Hillsboro’s Nathan Lynch will be taking the 14N to Bristol, but could use a little help with the journey.
The Lynch Motorsports team is taking donations for sponsorships, with all donations over $100 receiving their name on the car and a free Lynch Motorsports hat or shirt. A limited amount of shirts and hats are also for sale for $25 apiece.
